Kitty is a terminal emulator; this note records how to restore Nautilus as the default handler for directories.
Default application for files
If Kitty sets itself as the default application for opening directories (with the effect that, for example, Gnome desktop files open Kitty instead of Nautilus), this can be fixed with the following shell command.
xdg-mime default org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop inode/directory
